Children In The Rapture?

View One...

Children that die before reaching the age of accountability are safe and go to Heaven. But the Rapture is a different situation. Children under the age of accountability, and who have at least one saved parent, will be sanctified by that Christian parent (see I Corinthians 7:14) and will be caught up to meet Christ at the Rapture. But those whose parents are both lost will be left behind and will go through the Tribulation Period (see Matthew 24:19).

Some teach that only the children of the saved will go in the rapture but I believe that to be false. The Word of God tells us that small children are favoured of the Lord. When David's child died, the king said he could not bring the infant back but would one day go to where the child was [2 Samuel 12:23].

Jesus said that children have angels who behold the face of God [Matt. 18:10]. So, to give a very brief answer, I believe that ALL children below the age of accountability are saved and will go in the rapture.

Next are several stories of judgment in the Bible. Ask yourself if babies were spared during these previous judgments from God.
Were babies of unbelievers spared in Noah's flood? No.

Genesis 7:20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Were babies of unbelievers spared in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah? No.

Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

Were babies of unbelievers spared when the city of Jericho fell to the Israelites?

No. Joshua 6:21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
Final question. Does God change?

Will children go in the rapture??

That's a tough question. We just DON'T have all the answers do we. As you can see from the above, some teachers appear very certain as to the answer to the question "will children go in the rapture", but I must admit that I can't find any verses that point to an EXACT answer to this question. We can only surmise, calculate and ascertain the most probable answer but nothing more, I think.

In the flood, Noah was spared, along with HIS children, but no other children were saved. When Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed, Lot and his children were spared, but no other children. The children who did die in these calamities would've gone to Heaven however, I believe. Is the tribulation similar to the flood in that it is a worldwide JUDGEMENT? It probably is.

I can't see God taking a Christian woman in the rapture but making her leave her small child or baby behind. Then again, if all children and unborn are taken at the rapture, the worldwide sorrow and anguish amongst unbelievers would be a tribulation type judgement in itself. So perhaps just the children of believers are taken. It's all food for thought.

I DO know that God is perfectly just, and therefore will have a perfect solution to this scenario. I believe that all young children who die do go to heaven, but will probably be tested sometime in the future to ascertain their true love for and loyalty to God. I have no proof of that though.

As for the rapture, I really just do not know FOR CERTAIN whether some or all children go in it or not, but I lean towards just the children of believers going. I can find no verse however to clearly say that is the case. A child dying, as opposed to the rapture are two totally different scenarios after all. I only know that God is just, and merciful to the extreme, and when the rapture occurs, there will be no discontentment amongst the believers as to God's plan and justice at that time.

As for those with children and grandchildren, the best you can do is not to worry about whether or not they will go in the rapture, but rather, pray for them now.... that God will reveal Himself to their innocent hearts and that they will have a childlike faith in Him even now, and that no matter what happens, God will have mercy on them and make a place for them in his eternal kingdom.

God loves them even more than you do, so you will be asking Him to do what He already desires to do, so have FAITH and not FEAR, and either way, you and the children you love will spend eternity TOGETHER!

My two cents worth ..... Keygar.
